Location: New York, NY
The Marshall Project seeks a Communications and Development Associate to support the outreach and fundraising activities of a fast-growing, nonprofit media organization.
The Associate will report to both the Communications Director and the Development Director on projects that will help to sustain and promote our criminal justice reportage. Candidates should have strong writing skills, experience working or interning at a nonprofit organization, and an interest in criminal justice issues.
Writing reports and proposals to foundations and major donors.
Helping to write and distribute press communications.
Helping to manage lists of press and advocacy organizations.
Assisting with strategic communications for a nascent membership program.
Helping to pitch media organizations.
Preparing materials for quarterly meetings of the board of directors.
Performing general administrative duties, as required.
Experience with database and email-events management programs desirable but not required.
