Mikaila Read is the Manager of Membership Development for The Marshall Project. Previously, she worked as a Community Partner Manager for the non-profit Girls Who Code. Mikaila holds a master's degree with honors in philosophy from Durham University (UK), where she delivered research on philosophic justifications for punishment and the epistemic frailty of retributive justice. Her writing has been published across academic journals and magazines including Columbia University's, The Gadfly.
