Tracking Pixel

In order to accurately measure the impact of our reporting we need to be able to count the number of readers who see our stories. This script notifies our server whenever it is loaded. It does not set cookies, or otherwise attempt to track the reader in any way.

If your CMS allows you to include JavaScript, then paste the following into the body of the post on in your CMS.

<script async src="https://www.themarshallproject.org/pixel.js"></script>

If your CMS does NOT allow JavaScript, please use this simple invisible image instead.

Did it work?

When you have integrated the tracking pixel, paste the url of the post below to test if it is working. Note that the url must be accessible to our servers in order to test properly. So if a story has not yet been published, then this likely won't work. If you have some kind of external preview URL functionality, you can test with that.

What if it's not working?

If you can't get either of these options working, or have questions about anything, please don't hesitate to reach out to Gabe Isman, The Marshall Project's director of technology.
