Ashley Dye is The Marshall Project’s Audience Director, focused on serving readers where they are — most importantly those affected by the criminal justice system. Prior, they were the Audience Engagement Manager and increased The Marshall Project’s Instagram and Reddit presence in particular. Dye started in local news, where they were the Tampa Bay Times’ Engagement Editor and crafted engagement for two Pulitzer Prize investigations, “Targeted” and “Poisoned.” As a copy editor, they founded the Times’ “Coast Is Queer” section and won an opinion award from NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists. Dye is a reluctant Hoosier, Ball State graduate and resident of St. Pete, Florida.
