Ashley Dye is The Marshall Project's Audience Engagement Manager, focused on serving readers — most importantly those affected by the criminal justice system. Prior, they were the Tampa Bay Times' Engagement Editor, relaunching its Instagram and Reddit accounts and other strategies. Dye also crafted engagement for the Times’ Pulitzer Prize-winning investigation Targeted. As a copy editor, they founded the Times' Coast Is Queer section and won an opinion award from NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists. Dye is a reluctant Hoosier, Ball State graduate and resident of St. Pete, Florida.
