Leslie Eaton is senior editor of The Marshall Project. She was investigations editor of The Dallas Morning News from 2016 to 2018. Projects she edited there won awards including the Goldsmith Prize for Investigative Reporting, the Worth Bingham Prize for Investigative Journalism, the Scripps Howard Award for Distinguished Service to the First Amendment, an IRE award and a Loeb Award for local news. As Texas bureau chief of The Wall Street Journal, she helped edit the paper’s prize-winning coverage of the Deepwater Horizon disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. From 1994 to 2008, Eaton was a reporter at The New York Times, where she worked for the business, metro and national desks.
