I am 70+ retired Transit Police officer. As long as racism/abuse of authority is not honestly discussed in this country there will NEVER be an end to what we are seeing in our cities today in terms of the "us against them" relationship between the Black community and police departments.

I agree with the last segment which speaks about the present Police Benevolent Association President. I think whenever he speaks publicly there should be a disclaimer posted stating "I get paid to advocate for police officers, don't ever expect me to say anything that might reflect poorly on police even though this particularly incident causes one to question this police action". He does his job well but don't ever look for him to help heal the rift between the minority community and the PD.
