Thank you for publishing this fantastic article. It reminded me of an audio recording and video Community Initiatives for Visiting Immigrants in Confinement (CIVIC) released earlier this year. In this video, Marcela Castro talks about her experience from inside the James Musick Facility in Orange County, California. Marcela was detained for over six months in U.S. immigration detention, and she discusses trying to create make-up in detention, but being threatened with the "hole" (i.e. solitary confinement): http://youtu.be/vK2b58HjZgI.
