Hello,

My boyfriend is in Howard R Young Correctional Institution, and he will be there at most until Nov 2015. Delaware phone calls through Gtl is $1.22 for the first minute and 0 for the rest of the time. $1.22 for 15 minutes is ok, I guess, but if something happens – like I hit the wrong key and it disconnects within the first 2 seconds – then I am still billed $1.22.

And they had phone issues at the facility, and when he would call we wouldn't be able to hear each other. Gtl said unless the prison reports it they won't credit back anything. They don't credit back cell phones, and my thought is no one has a house phone much any more, so that is their way of ripping people off. If there is a lock up when we just get on the phone, that is another phone deducted.

I spend around $200 or 300 a month for the phone. But we also want to make sure they can call out to us to let them know we love them, miss them, and will be there because sometimes no matter how hard it is all you may need to hear is your family’s voice to make it better. It has to stop prison makes way too much money and loved ones suffer more than the inmates.
