Liset Cruz was a freelance data research reporter at The Marshall Project. She was also an investigative Stabile fellow at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. She reports on the criminal justice and immigration systems, using investigative data reporting techniques, building databases from public records and creating data visualizations to deepen our understanding of these opaque systems.
