Liset Cruz is a freelance data research reporter at The Marshall Project. She is also an investigative Stabile fellow at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, where she is currently pursuing her Master’s degree. She reports on the criminal justice and immigration systems, using investigative data reporting techniques, building databases from public records and creating data visualizations to deepen our understanding of these opaque systems.
